We worked with Tri Cycle Farms - based in Fayetteville, Arkansas - to develop conceptual design and implementation ideas for their aquaponics program. Tri Cycle Farms' mission is to grow community through soil as they steward food awareness, education, and empowerment. They envision a world with food security, sovereignty, and sustainability for all.
We work with Dr. Scott Osborn, professor of Biological and Agricultural Engineering, and his senior design students to build a small prototype system that included several plants and a few gold fish. The primary objective of this work is for students to get hands on experience, develop numerical models, and ultimately optimize the design and operation of aquaponic systems.
